Today I am thankful for:

  • The day went by quickly even though we didn't solve the Comm issue, there's always tomorrow
  • The kids excitement about buying Easter Egg dye
  • A chat with Lachandra on the phone on the way home from work
  • I got the baby shower invites done for Krista early
  • A short conversation with my brother on the phone
  • That I was able to let Erica vent on the phone so she would feel a little better
  • Bathtime and the innocence of splashing water all over the floor

Playing Catch Up

It's a little hard to glog over the weekend with 3 kids wanting to be at the computer when Mommy is. So, I'll be playing a little catchup today. It was an eventful weekend. Today I am thankful for:
  • 6 year old soccer, they are so excited just to play and have fun, and now they are getting to the age where they really want to keep track of the score. A little competition is good.
  • James actually sitting at the soccer game, and Lilah taking a nap at the game, allowing me to focus my attention on the game instead of him.
  • Date Night with John
  • Fogo de Chao's awesome food and wine
  • My first tattoo
  • My friends who don't approve of the tattoo, but don't hold it against me, and my friends who think the tattoo is awesome
  • Tricia, who didn't think I would actually get one
  • Pampered Chef gadgets
  • Quiet time with Lilah
  • Meeting another fellow Nebraska native at the eye doctor
  • New Glasses and sunglasses

Alas, its the end of another week. The weekend activities look to be promising and relaxing. Moving the focus to the present, today I am thankful for:
  • getting my house cleaned today and Not having to do it myself
  • my 6 year old realizing that the size of something doesn't dictate its value
  • my husband filling my van with gas
  • online banking
  • being able to see my children during the day on the daycare web video
  • Lunchtime Shopping with Lucia and girl chit-chat
  • little girl t-shirts with bunnies
  • Reporting Applications compiling with no errors
  • Positive Annual Review and Merit Increase
  • the upcoming weekend

Little things add up

When I started thinking about doing this, I wasn't sure I'd have things to put in writing. However, once you starting seeing the positive in each thing instead of negative, you suddenly find yourself with a plethora of items to be grateful for. Now, instead or worrying I don't have anything, I find myself making mental notes all day of things I can add to my list.

Today I am thankful for:

  • Ethan's unsolicited hug before he got on the school bus
  • No crying at daycare dropoff
  • Being able to give birthday gifts to friends
  • That I can write my glog at work
  • My husband calling to tell me he left his cell at home so I wouldn't worry
  • Leftover Stromboli
  • H20, Yes, water, I've been drinking more and starting to feel less puffy
  • Staying busy until 5:00, it makes the day go by quickly
  • Going home to a freshly mowed lawn that was mowed a day early
  • Good people taking care of my children at daycare
  • My husband helping me pickup for the maid without any complaining
  • Getting my house cleaned tomorrow

I feel better already :)

This is my first gratitude log attempt. I was introduced to glogging by a good friend at work. I would like to improve my outlook on daily life and just feel generally better about things. Therefore, I am going to keep this daily log of things that I am thankful for instead of focusing on the negatives. Here goes, today I am thankful for:
  • Warm clothes right out of the dryer first thing in the morning
  • Spending 9 years with a man who loves me unconditionally and gave me 3 beautiful children.
  • My kind, generous, loving husband who sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses for our 9th anniversary that are sitting on my desk.
  • My boys who shouted "MOMMY" when I came home from work and ran up and gave me big hugs
  • My daughter who smiled from her highchair when she saw me come in the front door
  • The dead cock roaches in my house from my husband spraying bug spray (finding dead ones is better than finding alive ones)
  • That our lawn service called to see if we wanted our lawn mowed (we could loose a child in the tall grass), and I'm thankful for his wife who is coming to clean my house on Friday.
  • I made it to work before 9:00 am.
  • I was able to convert the email polling application to VS 2005.
  • I was able to figure out what was causing the issue in the Reporting Application
  • My friend Krista who taught my church class tonight so I could have dinner with my family.
  • Sicily's anniversary dinner, they make an awesome Stromboli.
  • Candles at Bedtime
  • Warm nightime shower with baby girl after she throws up on both of us and a husband/daddy who wraps a towel around both of us
  • You

In conclusion, I feel great, this is a good idea and I'd like to thank CB for getting me started.
